International Post-Secondary Scholars from Malta

 

NOTE; For the sake of clarity, gender-specific terms referring to the male gender are often included in this document.  Whenever a gender-specific term is used, it should be understood as referring to all genders, unless otherwise stated.

 The Hon. Minister for Education and Employment has authorised the Students’ Maintenance Grants Section to accept applications for Students’ Maintenance Grants from scholars from Malta joining International Post-Secondary Education.

These applications have to be processed through the normal channels, including submission of the online application and due approval by the Hon. Minister.

The provision of L.N. 308 of 2016​ with regard to eligiblity of students for Students’ Maintenance Grants still apply.

The application for Students’ Maintenance Grants is available from education.gov.mt/studentsgrants.  New students must follow the online instructions with details on how to apply for Students’ Maintenance Grants.

 A consent form is required if a student is below 16 years of age.  This must be uploaded to the online application.  Thus is hereto attached for ease of reference and is also available online at http://education.gov.mt/en/Pages/SMGBStipends/SMGB-Under-16.aspx.

Applicants are required to input details about their course of studies.  From the relative drop-down list, students are to indicate whether they are Commencing their course of studies or whether they are being Promoted in their course.  They should also indicate 1 or 2 in the Course Year.   They should select United World College/ Foreign Post Secondary Institutions  in the Institute/School drop-down, and International Baccalaureate /European Baccalaureate in the Course drop-down.

Together with a scan of the School-Leaving Certificate, students studying in Foreign Post-Secondary institutions should also scan or upload a document proving their attendance at the relative institution.

 

No processing of online applications will take place after end June of the respective acacdemic year.
