The Ministry for Justice, Culture and Local Government Students’ Summer Work Opportunities 2018

The Ministry for Justice, Culture and Local Government (MJCL), in collaboration with the Students’ Maintenance Grants’ Board within the Ministry for Education and Employment, is now offering a Summer Work Opportunity for students who have completed their obligatory secondary schooling and who are pursuing their studies at Post-Secondary and Tertiary level.
Eligible Students shall be assessed by a Selection Board.  Students are to send a detailed CV, including a covering letter describing their interest in working in one of the portfolios of the Ministry.  All documents are to be uploaded to the online application at the Recruitment Portal
Students’ are hereby being informed that their details may be passed on to other ministries and/or departments so that they may be offered other opportunities.
Applicants who are not yet 16 years of age up to the date of application are to upload a Parent/Legal Guardian consent form. This form is available online here and is to be filled in by the parent or legal guardian of the student and is to be included with the other documents.
All Students are to fill in the Data Protection Form, in order for this application to be compliant to General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) available here.
Work Phases
The following are the date of the two work phases.  Students are to ensure that the Jobsplus Engagement Form filled in to cover the additional period of the work phase. Students may be assigned either of the work phases or both as per exigencies of the office where they are placed. Dates may also be altered.
Phase 1 - 16th July 2018 – 10th August 2018
Phase 2 - 20th August 2017 – 14th September 2018
Remuneration and Entitlement
Remuneration for this work is pegged at an hourly rate of €6.33 in line with scale 16 pay of the Public Service.

Students are to ensure that once assigned with an employer, their employment is registered with Jobsplus via the Engagement Form as per Legal Notice 110/1993.  The Jobsplus Termination Form must be submitted at the end of the summer work.
Failure to register a Commencement or a Termination of a job may result in incorrect data being shown on the Jobsplus Employment History.
Applications are accepted online between the 3rd July 2018 at 08:00 and the 9th July 2018 at 08:00. No late applications will be accepted.
