Mission Statement
The mission of Helen Keller Resource Centre is to provide quality educational services for students who have sensory and/or multiple disabilities, which will lead to the development of each student’s potential. This is to be achieved within a caring environment, which is supportive of the student’s home, culture/s, mode of communication and the mainstream schools that she or he may attend. The school aims to foster close ties with parents, professionals and other agencies to facilitate each student’s smooth transition from school to adult life.
Programme at School
The educational programme followed at the Resource Centre is based on the secondary level National Curriculum for those students under the age of sixteen. This curriculum is adapted to meet the needs of all students, providing attainment levels between one and three as well as for better achievers. Older students follow the "Moving-On" Programme that caters for the holistic development of all students.
